This trail is located close to or on open water, wetlands, or floodplain. Please use caution and be alert for water near or on the trail. Be alert for flooding and swiftly moving water. Check with your local trail manager for more information on closures during periods of high water.
Trailhead Information
Motorists can access the island’s walking paths and biking trails via W River Drive and turning south onto Credit Island Road where parking and other accommodations can be found. Pedestrians and cyclists can also get on the island via a pedestrian bridge on the southern tip of the island crossing over S Concord Street.
Description
Credit Island is in the Mississippi flood zone, therefore no official trails are built or maintained. Yet many cyclists riding fat tire bikes have found the summertime shoreline along Credit Island provides a rocky and sandy area to test their off-roaded ruggedness. The walking path in contrast provides a flat gentle stroll on a crushed rock surface around the island accessing the many features on the island. The island features: a disc golf course, picnic shelters rugby, soccer, baseball, and soccer fields.
Other Information
The island is sometimes closed to the public for large events; on weekends, it is advisable to check with the City of Davenport's Parks & Recreation Department before making the trip.
