This trail system contains mountain bike trails, which can become soft and are easily damaged after 0.75 or more inches of rain or long stretches of wet weather. Please consult QC Friends of Off-Road Cycling (FORC), http://www.qcforc.org, to make sure trails are open before heading out.
Trailhead Information
The trail is easily accessible from many locations throughout the park with the trailhead located behind the main baseball diamond just to the east of the picnic shelter. Parking and immediate access to the trail head can be found turning west off of 7th Street and immediately north into Stephen's Park.
Description
Stephen's Park is located very close to downtown Moline and many local attractions. Don't let this small urban trail system fool you. There's enough climbing, fast and fun downhills, and narrow singletrack crammed in to entertain most riders. Mountain bikers and hikers alike can enjoy the park's 1.7 mile loop that winds its way through the woods. Enter the trail to the east of the shelter and ride in a clockwise direction. Trail difficulty falls between beginner (green) and intermediate (blue) skill level. A couple unavoidable climbs with tight switchbacks and a few steep inclines push this trail slightly above a beginner level trail.
The park also offers many other amenities from a baseball fields, playgrounds, sand volleyball courts to basketball courts. Bathrooms are available to the west of the parking lot.
